It’s that moment when something clicks in your brain and you’re like, “Ohhh, this is actually super simple,” and suddenly you’ve got the words to explain it in a way no one else could. That’s the magic of Gate 23. It turns insight into language—especially those weird, abstract thoughts that no one else can quite put their finger on. If you’ve got this energy in your chart (or are feeling it in the transit this week), you might notice a sudden urge to say the thing, to explain something in a way that just makes sense.
BUT. And it’s a big but, this gate needs the right timing and the right audience. This isn’t about blurting out your latest revelation to the nearest stranger at the grocery store. Gate 23 shines when you’re invited to share, when someone genuinely wants to hear your perspective. That’s when it lands. When you're aligned, this gate is brilliant at bridging the gap between “Whoa, that’s deep” and “Oh, now I get it.” You’re literally here to bring new ideas into the world in a way people can actually understand. That’s powerful.
If your Gate 23 is defined, you likely feel this pressure to put your thoughts into words a lot. Your brain might always be downloading something new, and your gift is making it digestible. But you’ve probably also felt misunderstood at times. People don’t always get you right away, you you need to learn that it’s okay. Wait for the invitation. The right people will get it, and when they do, your words have the power to shift entire mindsets.
If your Gate 23 is undefined, you might find yourself picking up on other people’s ideas or ways of expressing themselves. You may feel a pressure to say something smart or original, even when the timing or words aren’t quite right. Let yourself off the hook. You don’t need to always have the perfect way to say it. Let your insights come and go, and trust that when they need to land, they will.
My contemplation’s:
I have never been someone who says the “right thing at the right time”. I always wished I could be profound with my words at all times, to say things that draw peoples attention, to always know exactly what to say. Instead, I trip over my words and I never feel like I am making sense. I embarrass myself at times and I often feel like an idiot. I used to let this upset me. This used to be something I had a deep rooted hatred for myself for. Reading into this gate made me realize that this is not one of my gifts, and that’s okay.
Gate 23 is located in our throat centre, and while my throat is defined, my Gate 23 is not. That means I have other important gifts that will allow my voice to truly shine through — like Gate 1 (my self-expression through my creativity) and Gate 20 (my authenticity through living in the present moment). Putting my thoughts and insights into words may not be my zone of genius, because I have different gifts. This is your sign to find your gifts. If Gate 23 is one of them, let it shine through and dive in! If it’s not, use this week to soak up all it’s energy, then let it go and find your unique power.
This is a huge reminder of why I love the sun transits so much. It gives me the opportunity to not only remind myself about my own gifts, but to remind you how special and magical you are, too ✨
Real-life ways to work with Gate 23 energy:
As always, keep reading to dig in to some ways you can utilize this week’s energy to the fullest in your daily life:
1. Let your insight breathe - just because a thought shows up doesn’t mean you have to immediately share it. Jot it down, voice note it to yourself, or let it swirl around a bit before putting it out there. Remember that timing is everything with this gate.
2. Watch for the urge to “prove” your intelligence - you don’t need to say something profound every moment of the day. This energy is brilliant, but it’s not always “on.” It’s okay to be quiet until the words feel aligned. Forced wisdom = meh. Aligned wisdom = magic.
3. Practice translating your thoughts into simple language - this gate is all about clarity. If your brain is swirling with downloads, take a moment and ask yourself: how would I explain this to a 10-year-old or my best friend over wine?
4. Notice when your words land - if people light up when you speak or say “Whoa, I never thought of it that way,” that’s Gate 23 doing its thing. These are the moments to trust and lean into more.
5. Be okay with being ahead of your time - sometimes your insights are just next level. People might not get it… yet. That doesn’t mean you're wrong. It just means they’re not ready. Keep trusting your voice.
Journal prompts for Gate 23 vibes:
Is there something I’ve been thinking about that I haven’t felt ready to say out loud yet?
Where do I feel pressure to sound smart, clever, or “original”... and what happens if I let that pressure go?
What’s something I do want to share, and how can I make it simpler and clearer?
How do I feel when my insights are misunderstood? What can I remind myself in those moments?
Gate 23 reminds us that wisdom doesn’t have to sound complicated. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is say something true, in a way only you can say it. Let your knowing come through in its own time, and trust that the people who need to hear it will get it.
✨ You’re not here to explain everything to everyone. You are here to say the right things, at the right time. ✨
Because real wisdom doesn’t shout, it lands.
